El Yunque Rainforest, Puerto Rico - © travelandsports.com 2003

Welcome to Porta del Yunque!

Welcome to our website for the area of Puerto Rico that serves as the gateway to the El Yunque National Forrest - one of Puerto Rico's 'must see' attractions.

Member businesses are located in the the towns of eastern Puerto Rico that you pass through on your way from San Juan to the El Yunque National Rainforest. These include Carolina, Canovanas, Rio Blanco, Rio Grande and the village of Palmer where you turn off of the highway to reach El Yunque.  We also welcome links from businesses in Luquillo, Fajardo and Ceiba which are neighbors to the south of El Yunque National Forrest.

We'll list local shops, restaurants, artists and artisans which will add to your daytrip to the rainforest plus a listing of small hotels, inns and resorts for longer visits to one of the most beautiful areas of the Caribbean.

This website is sponsored by Caribbean Consulting - which has similar websites for Puerto Rico Small Hotels and the Tourism Association of Rincon. We are making this site available to see if there is sufficient interest in Eastern Puerto Rico to start a website to feature small businesses and hotels that often get lost in traditional marketing efforts.

If you have a business that would like to get listed - it is FREE!  Click here to list your business!

Once we see how many businesses are interested, we'll create pages for each category and see if there is any 'grass-roots' interest in creating a local tourism association.

Until we get more listings on the site - please refer to the small hotels in this area who are members of the Puerto Rico Hotel & Tourism Association.   You can also visit the the official website of El Yunque National Forest

Also check www.elyunque.com for great information on El Yunque, Luquillo Beach and Eastern Puerto Rico.

Casa Cubuy Ecolodge - Rio Blanco

Casa Cubuy is a special, tranquil place where you can contemplate the wonder and beauty of the rain forest that surrounds you.

Sleep late, sunbathe on granite slabs and boulders worn smooth by eons of cascading waters. Slip into a natural Jacuzzi and let the water gently massage away the tensions of city life.

Relax in a hammock on the verandah, read, or just watch the clouds float by in this setting of giant tree ferns, soaring breadfruit trees, and wild orchids. Explore trails to prehistoric Indian rock carvings.

Located above Naguabo in Puerto Rico.
